Mount Pleasant Victorian

Together with Megan Downey Architect, the design team converted an existing historic Victorian home into a two-unit apartment building while preserving the historic details of the home. The home was completely rebuilt and re-framed, and new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, fire and sound separation, and insulation were all added. All existing finishes, doors, windows, and trim were salvaged and re-used. Two new kitchens, four new baths, and two half-baths were added, complimenting the historic home. The rear staircase was re-imagined to connect the rear unit on all levels, and leads to a completely new attic with skylights and bright living space throughout the units.
